I've done this twice whilst providing the music for Steelhead events.
Most everyone is aware of Don McLean's song "The Day The Music Died", and how it relates to the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and Jiles Perry "J.P." Richardson, more commonly known as The Big Bopper.
I found an MP3 file of the radio newscast from the day that the news broke out. So, before I play the song, I play the radio report first. Interestingly enough, with SAM, as the news broadcast starts to end, the song starts to play.....sounding somewhat fitting.
Far as I know, there's no version of the song with the radio broadcast.........there may be.......and if you hear it played during events I'm DJing, it's me being clever, giving a little history lesson about the story behind the song.
Thought I'd share that.

It was a very appropriate arrangement, and a lovely tribute.
I do hope we will hear more of your innovations in the future.
